Welcome to The Investigative Support Service Unit

The Investigative Support Service (ISS) functions as a unit within the Alabama Bureau of Investigation. The ISS is staffed with approximately 65 highly trained and professional arresting officers and civilian personnel.

The ISS provides a variety of functions in the support of criminal investigations for state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies throughout Alabama and the United States. The unit consists of:

• Criminal Information Center
• Dive Team
• Explosive Ordnance Disposal/Technical Support
• Identification Unit
