If you met Joyce M. Lassitter one time and spent any time with her, then you knew her for life. She never changed, she was plain spoken, and she lived a simple, hard-working life. Joyce was a life-long Christian and a member of the Assembly of God Church. If you didn't meeet her with a big smile on her face, then she was sick. She lived through emergency heart surgery, two strokes and still came back to her usual happy-go-lucky self. I (daughter Vickie) and Alece (granddaughter) named her Prissy because she even had her gowns and pajamas ironed. No matter the struggle, she looked her best at all times. Joyce kept a regular hair appointment, she sometimes had to have help putting on her makeup and jewelry, but she always wanted to look her best. She had too many friends to call by name, going out of her way to help them and their families in times of need. She was an outstanding homemaker and cook. She loved her family most of all and especially took extra loving care of her husband, Milford E. Lassitter, daughter Vickie L. Clyburn, granddaughter Alece N. Hadley, and three great-grandchildren. If you asked Joyce to pray for you, she didn't wait until she got home. It might be in the middle of Wal-Mart, grocery store, your home, hospital, or the beauty shop. When she was finished, you knew you had truly been prayed for and there was always a different atmosphere around afterward.

It has been the greatest tragedy our family ever suffered to lose her. We have days of nothing but tears and loneliness for her. We have days when we remember all the funny times and enjoy sharing the laughter. We attend her grave site often, very often. We maintain the beautiful flowers, some bought and arranged by her daughter. We take her presents, pretty ceramic birds, pieces with quotes from the Bible, wind chimes and other things she liked.

Joyce was a great admirer of Thomas Kinkade, and we maintain her paintings and other collectibles.

We will always love and miss her and look forward to the day when we will see her again.

There is no way to explain and capture all of her in a few pages. Just when you look at the stars at night, remember that she outshines them all.

We love you, Joyce.

Milford, Vickie, Alece and Great-grandchildren
