Jima has been gone for three years now. Sometimes it seems like a lifetime; other times it feels like only yesterday. Jima was a a very wonderful young man, loved by so very many friends and family. Only 35 years old and way too young to die, but his life was cut short by a drunken driver.

The thing I miss most about him is sitting on my front porch, watching him ride up on his horse. Jima was a true cowboy. As in the picture, his small nephew told him, "Real cowboys are not afraid to ride in the rain." His wonderful, sweet mother passed away just six months later. Shortly after his death, she wrote a poem in memory of Jima and asked Tony Grigsby (Lanny Rose Band) to put music to it. Tony did this and performed it on the Jamie Cooper show. Thank you, Tony.

Cowboy in the Sky
I'm a cowboy in the sky. My horse and I have passed you by.
My work here on earth is all done, So I'll help God paint the setting sun.
I see you here, I see you there, and your pain is all so hard to bear.
I'll carry your burden that you share. I love you so much because you care.
My life was happy, wild and free. My friends all meant the world to me.
From up above, it's plain to see; This place up here is best for me.
I see you weep, I see you cry. Raise up your head, look at the sky.
You just may see me riding by; That's how those puffs got in the sky.
I meet new people every day, as we bow our heads to pray.
They all have a lot to say, as we ride on our way.
I will ride as you work and play. And we all stroll to the Milky Way.

We Miss You So Very Much!! We Love You, Jima!!
Ride on, Cowboy!! We will ride together again some day!!
